Over 1,000 Vaccinated in Malekula
Over 1,000 people in Malekula have been vaccinated against coronavirus since the launch of the vaccine rollout for the province on Tuesday this week.
Almost 400 were vaccinated on the first day. Vaccination was led by key government officials and key community leaders.
More than 200 took their first doses on the second day which is Wednesday and almost 400 again on the next day.
Healthcare workers and other frontline workers such as immigration officers, public transport drivers, law enforcement officers, seaport staff and vulnerable population aged 55 and above including people with existing medical conditions, are prioritised in the vaccine rollout.
Vaccines are being administered at the Norsup Hospital.
